		<description>To Mr. Leis&#039;s point - I experience that &quot;personal connection&quot; effort first hand on a recent trip to the mall.  I was in a department store which is not know for having particularly strong customer service.  On my last visit there I was greeted no less than 3 times by sales people who weren&#039;t pushy, but just there, seemingly trying to make my shopping experience more pleasant.  It made me more likely to re-visit the store even when they&#039;re not having a sale.</description>

		<description>As you pointed out -- I think you have to refocus on the relationships between people. A lot of our economic problems have happened because of systematic abstraction. Systems managing systems managing people. It&#039;s really important for companies to start using these systems as a facilitator to bring people together, no to optimize efficiency. Brands have to start accepting that efficiency via systems only goes so far. The personal connections backed by good product are what keep brands alive and thriving in a recession, not automated &quot;We thank you for your patience&quot; messages.</description>
